Oldie but Goodie

I recently was introduced to a little 62 page book from a man who lived over 100 years ago. In J. C. Ryles book, “Thoughts for Young Men” he challenges the young men in his culture to rise up from the generational expectation of being a young man. As I started reading this booklet I was amazed at the relevancy of his message. J. C. Ryle starts with the importance of a young man not waiting to live for Christ but to take action now. There are so many quotable sentences throughout this book. I not only wish I would have read this when I was 16  or earlier but I am glad I have read it now. I have encouraged our youth group, guy leaders, and almost any guy I run it to pick up a copy and read it.

Has anyone else read it?

Books to read

My goal is to read a couple of difference books that I have not read yet about youth ministry.

Here is a couple that I plan on getting done in the near future and then give a little review on them:

Youth Ministry 3.0

Thoughts for Young Men by J.C. Ryle and Sustainable Youth Ministry by Mark DeVries.

If anyone has read them I welcome your comments.
